Welcome Everybody!!
ReplyDeletePlease read the guidelines above to make our shared experience more interesting.....
Last Week I predicted..Lib-74..PQ-39...CAQ-9...QS-3..Pretty close to this final poll!
ReplyDeleteAnybody care to make a prediction? Coset prediction will get props in my nxt post
Deaar Editor. You meant to say do NOT use bold face.
ReplyDeleteJust released some results from a Sunday poll : PLQ 85 seats!
ReplyDeleteDid you know that there is on riding in Quebec that closes its polls before all the others?
ReplyDeleteIt’s Îles-de-la-Madeleine where they are on the ATZ time, one hour ahead of the rest of the province.
It’s interesting because this riding may be a indicative of things to come. The PQ owned the riding but in the last election the Liberals were close behind.
Pauline never visited the once during the campaign, but Couillard went twice.. I think Pauline never out it on her schedule because she thought it was a lock.

The race is supposed to be tight and if the Libs win, it augers poorly for the PQ, the rest of the night.
If the PQ holds, well……
We’ll know soon enough.
Couillard in early results has double PQ votes 9in Roberval
ReplyDeleteResults in from Îles-de-la-Madeleine coming in. g?
ReplyDelete64% LIb 31% Pq
Is this a bellweather riding
Editor your prediction seems very optimist.. Your numbers for Liberals and PQ are what CTV is predicting as maximum possible amount of ridings for the Liberals and the minimum for the PQ.
ReplyDeleteMy prediction: Pauline won't have a job for very long.
Pauline looked haggard and frazzled this morning. She said to an interviewer that she has confidence Quebecers will make the right choice. I hope so too.
ReplyDelete"CTV Decision Desk" predicting a Liberal win as of now.
ReplyDeleteLIBERAL WIN ELECTION CALLED !!!!!!! @ 8:18PM That must be a record!
ReplyDeleteYes the PQ are falling on their ass! Yeah! Pack it up Miss Piggy - the knives are waiting.
ReplyDeleteRidings where voting is a really just self-fulfillment.
ReplyDeleteDarcy McGee….92% Liberal
Jacques Cartier….80% Liberal
Jeanne-Mance-Viger…..73% Liberal
NDG………….....71% Liberal
Mont-Royal …..75.5% Liberal
Nelligan ………..74.5% Liberla
Pontiac ……….....67.2% Liberal
Robert-Baldwin ……83.4% Liberal
Chomedy……...67% Liberal
Westmount-Saint-Louis………..84.6%
It's official - though the elections are far from over we officially have a Liberal governent!
ReplyDeleteHaha to SR and Student!
We win!
CTV Updates predictions:
ReplyDeleteLiberals: between 60 and 76 seats
PQ: between 39 and 56
Well editor, maybe you won't be so far off after all...
CTV's seat project has errors...
ReplyDelete6 away from a Lib majority!
ReplyDeleteRadCan has LIBS at 60 seat with a least 3 in the bag not reporting yet
ReplyDeleteRadio Canada called a Liberal government at 8:27pm. As of right now, Liberals have 50% of all votes. OMFG, so funny for all you pequistes and caqists.
ReplyDeleteReaders, this might a short night!
ReplyDeleteThese Pq ministers will very likely hold onto their seats.
ReplyDeleteÉlaine Zakaïb, the PQ’s economic development minister...Richelieu
Bernard St.Arnuad, justice minister in Chambly
Yves-Francois Blanchet, the outgoing PQ environment minister
PQ higher education minister Pierre Duchesne in Borduas
Nicole Léger in Repentigny
Nicolas Marceau in Rousseau
Bernard Drainville,
Alexandre Cloutier LAc St-Jean
Sylvain Gaudreault. Jonquière;
Jean-François Lisée , Rosemont
Maka Kotto….Bourget
Stéphane Bergeron, Vercheres
François Gendron. Abitibi-Ouest
Gilles Duceppe on CTV, makes for some interesting debates.
ReplyDeleteRadio Canada reporters look so disappointed, lol
ReplyDeleteIt is QLP majority government. CTV projects 66 seats for them.
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling way better about my decision to swap the UK for Montreal with the way things are going.
ReplyDelete@Editor
ReplyDeleteMarceau is at grave risk, just a few points ahead!
IT'S OFFICIAL COUILLARD IS OUR NEW PREMIER!!!!
BTW The media making a big deal about Fatima Houda-Pepin running against Dr Gaétan Barrette in La Pinière.. But the truth is she’s polling@ 5%, while the CAQ is at 20% against 48% for LIBS.
ReplyDeleteMuch ado about nothing!
Na na na na - Na na na na
ReplyDeleteHey Hey Hey
Gooooood Byyyyyye........
Ten minutes to a majority?
ReplyDeleteCTV just called a Liberal Majority 8:36pm
ReplyDeleteOfficial call from CTV, majority QLP government, 36 minutes in.
ReplyDeleteNo, Gilles Duceppe is just saying the same old, same old. "Why don't we just join the United States?" Why do Canadians always think they can just jump past Puerto Rico and every other American holding, but more importantly we have "joined" the US in many ways, we call them NAFTA and NATO and the OAS and so many other ways.
ReplyDeleteThanks Couillard for running a great campaign. I won't have to stay up until midnight this time around :)
ReplyDeleteand there it is. LIBERL MAJORITY I even called the time!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletePauline Marios is on the second position in her riding
ReplyDeleteHa! Ha! D'Arcy MGee not even reporting yet. Safest LIB riding in Qc
ReplyDeleteD’arcy McGee, is the most Jewish electoral district outside Israel, a riding composed of Hampstead and Cote St. Luc and a sliver of Montreal, a riding where more 70% voters are of the faith. There’s a small parcel of Montreal that accounts for the few PQ votes.
ReplyDeleteIt is currently polling at 92% LIB.
Poor Yves Michaud!…..PQ will get the fewest votes here of any riding in QC.
BTW, my pediatrician (when I was a tot) Dr. Victor Goldbloom left his practice sometime in the sixties to become the first in an unbroken string of Lib. Jew. MNAs.
this isn't an election its a slaughter lol
ReplyDeleteRadio Canada has said that the Marois government has been the shortest in Quebec history. Thank God! (Or am I not supposed to say God?)
ReplyDeleteStill upset that Masse is trailing Breton.
ReplyDeleteI guess I can watch March Madness Final now... Well, maybe wait a while for Marois concession speech.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, why is the fucker Gilles Duceppe a panelist in an English medium?
I'm soooooo looking forward to Pauline's speech.
ReplyDeleteOhhh, how I've waited for this moment!
Does Pauline regret her silly move?
ReplyDeleteMr. Berlach,
ReplyDeleteIs it a default that your posts as Editor always be in bold?
@Yannick
ReplyDeleteHappy to see you back - stop being a stranger.
Seems Marois may be in trouble in her own riding. Looks like the CAQ support went to the Liberals in the end.
ReplyDeleteNo need for the FAT LADY to SING. Its ovaaahha for the PQ
Diane De Courcy loses in Cremazie
ReplyDeleteStill four safe Liberal ridings not reporting results yet
ReplyDeleteWhere on earth are all the resident trolls tonight LMAO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAwwwww Yeaaah:
ReplyDeleteDiane De Courcy loses in Cremazie
Wow...just continues bad for PQ.
ReplyDeletePKP elected Buuuuurn!.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to hear SR's comments, or do smug seppies only sing when their winning as we say in England?
ReplyDeleteMartine Ouellet losing in Vachon
ReplyDeleteGood riddance (hopefully)
75/125 seats for QLP. 60% majority. Question, has any party had this kind of landslide majority in recent history?
ReplyDeleteGoing to be able to go to bed earlier than I thought! Well done Dr. Couillard! Now, let's get some common sense back into quebec. Bet our trolls will leave us alone for awhile - at least I would hope so! Thanks Editor for all the hard work and your predictions were pretty damn close. What a relief - let's not give up on reminding Dr. Couillard that things have to change. Our work is just beginning!
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree Troy - why do CTV have that nut Duceppe on there? Who cares what he thinks; he's still living off Canadian pension money and we have to listen to his trash - yuck.
Very happy to see Diane de Courcy go down in flames.
ReplyDeleteOnly a couple of ridings in play
ReplyDeleteActually so happy to sea PKP elected - welcome to purgatory, punk!
ReplyDeleteJean-François Lisée in a close race, Now ahead by 50 votes
ReplyDeleteTo the minorities in Quebec:
ReplyDeleteOK, everybody...breathe....breathe easy. There has been plenty of angst the last year, but I'm at least glad all my Quebec family, friends and contacts can now relax for the next four years.
If Couillard is as smart as his academic credentials, he'll start tomorrow with electoral reform and bring proper democracy back to Quebec...well...as close as Quebec will ever come to democracy.
Rejoice, but keep the following in mind:
DON'T expect Philippe Couillard to change a comma of Bill 101.
DON'T expect Philippe Couillard to make access to English schools one iota easier than it is right now...and it's NOT easy!
DON'T expect Philippe Couillard to direct Quebec government workers to speak to you in English, except where absolutely necessary.
DON'T expect Philippe Couillard to allow corporations to file Quebec tax returns in English anymore.
DON'T expect, for those who hold professional designations, to receive their association literature in English again.
DON'T expect the OQLF to disappear--not by a damn longshot.
DON'T expect the OQLF to suddenly stop picking on small businesses--not by a damn longshot.
Everybody: Breathe easy, but don't dream.
... And Liseée, too, if trend holds.
ReplyDeleteMartine Ouellet now 3rd (by a small margin) in Vachon
ReplyDeleteCongrats PKP!! When are you going to sell your Quebecor shares?
ReplyDeleteDmsion mariiosie
ReplyDeleteGood call editor..I was hoping for a stronger showing from the caq but once again everyone fell back to the same old same old. We got rid of Popo...good riddance and the PQ for 4 years. But the Liberals have a horrible record with fiscal management..not sure Quebec will survive another 4 years of Liberal mismanagement..be careful for what you all wished for..
ReplyDeleteAnd Léo Bureau-Blouin is getting slaughtered.
ReplyDeleteBack to protesting!
Leo looks to be beat - up yours you little brat!!
ReplyDeleteOnly 8 ridings still in play
ReplyDeleteFirst returns from D'Arcy McGee......LIBS 3,800 votes CAQ 50 PQ 40... I'm not joking!
ReplyDeleteCTV has Duceppe there so we can watch him squirm .....
ReplyDeleteLaval is entirely red, Laval Des Rapides has been called and Leo is out
ReplyDeleteThank God Leo is out - wonder if he'll ever realize why.
ReplyDeleteLiberals still leading in Vachon (Martine Ouellet).
ReplyDeleteIt hasn't gone to the Liberals since 1989 according to wikipedia
Where are the trolls?
ReplyDeleteSome 20 year kid who has no life experience should have never been elected in Laval de Rapides. Thank you voters of Laval for setting things right.
ReplyDeleteThe CTV electoral Map is just lousy !!! ....a real mess
ReplyDeleteAccording to CTV Leo Bureau-Blouin gets an upset, according to CBC it is still Saul Polo.
ReplyDeleteLibs 42% of the popular vote..Once again undecided break towards them
ReplyDeleteLiberals just took the lead in Groulx! (Martine Desjardins, Leo's friend)
ReplyDeleteCTV coverage is crap with Gilles Duceppe. Prefer watching Radio Canada right now
ReplyDeleteLéo Bureau-Blouin is losing handily...4 200 votes to 3000
ReplyDeletePauline the witch is only 86 ahead.
ReplyDeleteMartine Desjardins leading by 8 votes after 13K votes
ReplyDeleteMarois is ahead by 86 votes in her riding. Please let her win so she can suffer with PKP, lol
ReplyDeleteMarois is struggling for her seat while all the other main leaders have already been elected.
ReplyDeleteLooking like the PQ will have their lowest share of the popular vote since 1970.
The politics of division failed miserably.
Ho Ho!
3 way race in Groulx, will Martine finish 3rd?
ReplyDeleteGThere are 3-4 ridings that have less than a20 vote separation. This after about 16,000 votes!
ReplyDeleteDo I hear RECOUNT
PKP is talking on Radio Canada. I wonder if he will do another fist pump, lol
ReplyDeleteThe Liberal is leading in Sherbrooke... I wonder if we're going to hear "Ce n'est que partie remise!" again from a certain someone.
ReplyDeleteHo Ho!
LIBS losing 4 seats by a hair
ReplyDeleteCAQ very close for Chambly and Iberville
ReplyDeleteDuceppe getting away with a ton of B/S on CTV
ReplyDeleteAl Jazeera has spoken...
ReplyDeletehttp://www.aljazeera.com/news/americas/2014/04/quebec-separatists-lose-snap-elections-2014481164870395.html
I had predicted Liberals 70, PQ 34, CAQ 18, and QS 3.
ReplyDeleteLooks like I wasn't far off
That idiot Marceau has been beaten and DesJardins beaten.
ReplyDeletePKP Talk = is he the next PQ leader?
ReplyDeleteAm watching CBC stream for that reason. Don't need Duceppe's bilge.
ReplyDeletePQ down to 33 seats. Boisclair was a success compared to this.
ReplyDelete, PKP makes a play for leadership already!!
ReplyDeleteCalls for sovereignty of Quebec and congratulates Couillard presumptuously. An ordinary candidate doesn't do that, it's up to the leader!
Pauline, the knives are out
Will Pauline resign tonight?
ReplyDeleteQTS
DeleteI am staying up....lol...just to see her to that...Good Riddance!
Marois might not even be elected - the students are out - this sis awesome!
ReplyDeleteS.R, Studetn, Y.L, Fake Mohammed, where are you guys? The water's great!
Sainte-Marie-Saint-Jacques is an almost exact 3-way tie... currently QS leading by only 15 votes.
ReplyDeleteWorst PQ showing since 1970... Marois delivered even worse than Boisclair. Buh bye, Pauline!
Marois and Simard neck and neck!
ReplyDeleteGo CAQ Go! Happy to see them over 20 seats..was hoping they would be over 25..loving to see PQ at 30..ouch
ReplyDeleteI'm with you Yannick - will be interesting to say the least. Anyway, glad to see Miss Piggy out the door - she was just awful. She still may lose her seat - can't think of it happening to a nicer person.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Some really tight races!
ReplyDeleteDid you know your blog is on the PQ official site? In the article about Drainville demanding Legault reign in Sidel.
DeleteWell done.
Do you have a link?
Deletehttp://pq.org/nouvelle/le-parti-quebecois-demande-a-francois-legault-de-r/
DeleteTo be fair, they are quoting Sidel (in english!) who is talking about your blog.
Interesting analysis from A. Maioni. This PQ result is even worse than Andre Boisclair's defeat of 2007. To make things even worse, Boisclair lost in a minority government. This time, the PQ is stuck with it for another four years!
ReplyDeleteI want Pauline to win and suffer the humiliation!!
ReplyDelete@Editor
DeleteCouldn't we start a lobby for proportionate representation here, on this blog....as an initiative? Just a thought!
Oh no! Liberals are leading in Marois' riding! I want Marois to win and then have to resign. Oh well, life ain't perfect, lol
ReplyDeleteShe back in the lead momentarily with only 93 votes. How embarrassing to have to struggle for her seat! All the other leaders were declared elected over an hour ago.
ReplyDeleteIf she loses, she can go cry on jannette bertrand's shoulder.
DeleteCongrats to the CAQ. Many young francophones have voted for them. It would be nice if the CAQ eventually replaces the PQ.
ReplyDelete@Roger Rabbit
ReplyDeleteHow I wish for the same right vs center vs left that all other provinces have, no separation questions, seulment les vrais affaires!
I agree. I have no problem with that kind of debate. That is what is really important. I just hope that Francois Legault gets over his aversion to billingualism and stops worrying about tightening Bill 101. Then we can have a proper debate in Quebec to make Quebec's economy stronger. Congratulations once again to Mr. Couillard and to the CAQ.
DeleteTonight is a great night for Quebec and a great night for Canada!
ReplyDeleteFrancoise David congratulates Couillard and in the same breath denounces current election system. Sour grape much?
ReplyDeleteYes she is talking about sovereignty, the charter, and other BS. Her party has what 7% of the vote? MDR
DeleteDe Courcy is gone! Woo hoo! That Bill 14 didn't work out too well for her....
ReplyDeleteFrig...how great is that...was there not a more insufferable witch with a Capital B!
DeleteDrain-brain IN.....yuk....
DeleteI want a Parizeau '95 style speech.
ReplyDeletePauline losing by 13 votes right now
ReplyDeleteOk question...once back in National Assembly and Liberals sworn in, will they put back Canadian Flag?
ReplyDeleteOf course! The PQ's asymmetrical background always looked stupid. I seem to remember reading there used to be busts of Victoria and Albert in the alcoves on either side where the flowers are now. Imagine the pequistes heads exploding at that!
DeletePQ Pierre Duchesne ahead by 19 votes
ReplyDeleteHoly Crap Martine Ouellet is catching up in Vachon, she's back in the lead now.
ReplyDeleteLIBS lost a bunch of ridings by a hair...
ReplyDeleteDe Courcy gone? Ding-dong one of the bitches is dead! In Marois' riding, it just flashed. Marois is ahead by 182 votes with 162/185 polls reporting. Actually, her winning would cause her more hardship and she couldn't run away tonight.
ReplyDeleteSimard is leading again in Marois' riding this late into the evening. Humiliation!
DeleteIf she wins, I hope the Liberal candidate asks for recount...just to piss her off even more...lol
DeleteIt's going down to the wire for Pauline, losing by 122 votes with 20 polls remaining
ReplyDeleteOutgoing justice minister Bertrand St-Arnaud (McGill Anglo Student thieves) trailing... Karma
ReplyDeleteIf QS wins Breton's riding it will be by lestt than 100 votes. LIB trailing now by 69 with only 2 polls left
ReplyDeleteFor once, I agree with you.
ReplyDeleteIt was good to see Fatima Houda-Pépin get smacked down so decisively, and this despite the PQ not even a candidate... it took some hubris to go against party loyalty.
ReplyDeleteLegault is speaking English!! Wow! Finally...
Pauline has lost her riding...
ReplyDeleteThey're getting close to announcing that Marois has lost her seat... Simard is leading by over 700 votes now. Are you sure this isn't more humiliating than quitting/being run out later?
ReplyDeleteQS leading in Mtl riding by 69 votes with 2 polls left...but those polls are not reporting for the last 1/2 hour
ReplyDeleteHoly Crap! Marois over 700 votes behind with 7 polls to go.
ReplyDeleteI'm quite happy tonight Yan...even you can't piss me off...LOLOLOLOL
ReplyDeleteSo Cheers...bottoms up!
Will a troll please speak up. I want to know how you feel right now.
ReplyDeleteFunny how they've made themselves scarce, eh?
DeleteI want to hear "Ce n'est que partie remise" again!!!
This is our party...they're not invited..lol...
DeleteMiss Piggy lost! Wow!
ReplyDeleteMartine Desjardins loses
ReplyDeleteto CAQ
"Na-na-na-na... na-na-na-na... hey-ay-ay... good bye!"
ReplyDeleteQLP supporters in their campaign HQ upon seeing the result in Charlevoix–Côte-de-Beaupré.
The cherry on Marois' sundae should be a call from Charest.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Quebec!
You know he's sitting at home watching this thinking: http://i.imgur.com/p0RqWnG.gif
DeleteSAINTE-MARIE-SAINT-JACQUES in play between QS and LB with QS leading by 69 with two polls left.
ReplyDeleteThe riding hasn't reported in over 45 mins on these 2 polls.
But for the LIBs to win, those two polls need to be a Condo building full of rich LIBs. Ha! Ha!
I took a break from the coverage because the election turned out how I would have liked. Curious as to what Legault had to say. Glad to hear it was good natured. Looks like CAQ ended up with 22 seats compared to 30 for the PQ. He did a good job in the end.
ReplyDeleteWell most of us were expecting the PQ to lose, but did anyone predict they'd be so decimated?
ReplyDeleteRight now CTV is showing them at 29 seats!
Lowest number for PQ seats since 1989! HAH, even Andre Boisclair did better than Marios.
They got what was coming to them...Annihilation...totally deserved.
DeleteMy only regret is Martine Ouellet ( the PQ minister who doesn't know what a loan guarantee is) is leading by 160 votes with 7 polls remaining
ReplyDeleteI'd want to be a fly on the wall..PKP, fake Tom Hagen and drain-brain...huddled in room together, lol...what do you think they're talking about? LOL! Haha
ReplyDeleteWho's taking over for Pauline
DeleteWas that Bernard wiping a tear?
ReplyDeleteDISAPPOINTMENT!
ReplyDeleteIt looks as if Pauline is OUT! She is exactly 1,000 votes behind with only 3 polls to report. Most polls, esp. in that area, are under 150 voters per, so even if she gets all the remaining votes, she'll still lose by over 500 votes.
OK, maybe not disappointing, but BITTERSWEET!
Lisée won. B-i-i-i-i-g disappointment! He spoke, and it sounds like his attitude will not change. Quel surprise!
DeleteI would have preferred to see this go to one extreme or the other. Either the PQ with a sweeping majority (so to eventually see Quebec kicked out of Canada) or decimated to the point of a so few seats, they lose official party status. It's still nice to see their numbers so low, but really, NOT low enough.
DeleteProblem is the PQ will be the official opposition, again. They'll stir up language, division and all the usual crap, forcing the hand of the PLQ to do their bidding. And in the end....they will come back again and grow, just like a cancer.
Yep, bittersweet.
Mme Leger, PKP, JF Lisee, and Drainville on the stage all thanking Marois, lol
ReplyDeleteIs PKP speech the concession speech from the new party leader?
ReplyDeleteIs it me or is PKP just creepy?
ReplyDeleteThe 3 of them are creepy....they sound like such Losers...oh gee...THE ARE LOSERS!
DeleteFake Tom Hagen giving it all he's got...it still hasn't sunk in eh? Lol...IT WILL!
ReplyDeleteWell PQ, that's what happens when you divide people and only govern for one group of people. Who are you going to blame for your loss PO?
ReplyDeleteMoney and the ethnic vote. (probably)
DeleteI'm so sick of seeing and hearing them. Get out!!!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely creepy... it's not just you. Now that Marois has lost, the 3 potential successors eager to replace her are standing on stage side by side. Which is the worst/least worst? Gilles Duceppe needs a job too...
ReplyDeleteI don't think any of the four PQ members on the stage understand the message that the population has sent. They are talking about all the points that made them unelectable and thanking the person that brought them to the slaughterhouse. MDR!
ReplyDeleteBrain-drain is still talking about "values"?
ReplyDeleteOMG! Hearing Duceppe is worse than the Chinese water torture, now that uber-moron Brain-Drain is speaking.
ReplyDeleteGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAG MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Here we go, bye bye Pauline!
ReplyDeleteWell she has to go off and spread fear again about Language. All the ones who are insecure about the French language are right there in THAT room with her. The rest of Quebecers are very confident about the strength and power of French..it prevails!
DeleteShe Quit...GOOD BYE
And now, we shall never give her (and the other insufferable losers in her party) another thought! So so grateful for that.
Pauline declared loser, I can't wait to hear her speech...Will she resign as leader now, or wait for the morning?
ReplyDeleteShe just resigned. She had no other option. Good riddance! Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
DeleteMarois neglected to congratulate her opponent who defeated her... stay classy, Pauline!
DeleteAbsorbing and engrossing, well beyond my anticipations. And FWIW I anticipated a PLq win. Surprising, heartening, affirming, inspiring evening. Just got off and surprised by what I'm seeing. Suis content
ReplyDeleteLIB vote in MTL staggering
ReplyDeletePauline speaks! The black dress is truly appropriate.
ReplyDeleteShe does not get it, does she? Even in defeat she still talks about values and language. Does she not think that those are the things that get her to lose?
