Every now and then I go through my RRS Reader to try and get rid of the stuff that is no longer pertinent.
Recently I came across the original post on Vigile.net by our good friend Robert Barberis-Gervais, which was the subject of much debate over accusations of antisemitism.
Now when the
But the Internet being what it is, nothing is ever really lost and trying to get rid of something that you published, is like trying to put the genie back into the bottle.
And so I'm going to put back into the permanent Internet record exactly what he wrote, without the redactions. I've also provided a translation so that those without French can get a sense of the complete article as originally published.
The yellow part is what was redacted.
The Jewish lobby is responsible for the Michaud affair in 2000 and 2010If the rich Jews of Montreal and Laval treat Francophone Quebeckers like Palestinians without respecting their right to self-determination, (and their language and own culture) with the same contempt as the Jews of Israel who have all the rights, while the Palestinians have none, it's high time that the truth be told.
I'm speaking of the Jews that summoned Lucien Bouchard to a meeting. I'm talking about Jews who got Lucien Bouchard all in a lather because some members of the Parti Quebecois protested because the Minister of Education was ready to change the universal pedagogical schedule to satisfy certain Jewish schools, which served as a pretext to mount a crisis against Pauline Marois. Lucien Bouchard, who is one of those responsible for the Michaud affair, is now working in a Jewish law firm, making lots of money by denying his own.
Lawyers like Jean Charest and Lucien Bouchard dragged the National Assembly into committing an injustice which denied an honourable private citizen his right to be heard. Like in Palestine where Jews deny Palestinians their rights by advancing their own interests before anything else.
What was Mr. Michaud's crime? His crime was to question the unanimous political behaviour of the Jewish community who acted against Quebec independence. The Jews immediately viewed Mr. Michaud as an enemy. And their spokesman Lawrence Bergman made a motion to humiliate he who dared to stand up to them at the expense of his right to be heard and to defend himself. For the Jewish lobby, it was of no importance. They had to destroy their adversary, It's wasn't important to respect his rights. That was the year 2000
Later on, when he became the"Robin Hood" of banks, Yves Michaud continued to thwart the interests of the Jewish lobby. It was therefore necessary to continue to humiliate him by arranging for the National Assembly to not acknowledge its mistake when it unanimously passed the motion of December 14, 2000. The Jewish lobby, by funding the Liberal Party and for being a dominant economic force is responsible for the first Michaud affair of 2000 and the second Michaud case of 2010.
The Palestinians of the New World and one of its leaders, Yves Michaud, must understand once and for all that there is a big price to pay when you attack the Jewish lobby.
Yves Michaud continues to fight and remains un-intimidated by the Jewish lobby. Without denying anything I wrote so far, I say he deserves our support. Here is the original French version.
At any rate, it's probably a safe bet to say that Mr. Barberis-Gervais is no fan of Jews.
His article contains numerous falsehoods, most egregious, that Jews control our banks, a statement that sadly reveals his tenuous grip on reality. (Jews have almost nothing to do with our banks)
When he complains of the rich Jews of Laval, he exposes his geographical ignorance. (Rich Jews don't live in Laval.)
And so it's hard to take seriously anything Mr. Barberis-Gervais' writes. His attitude towards Jews and his predisposition to invent facts, made it easy for me to conclude that his improbable story about the lovely 'Isabelle and four Jews' just another flight of fancy.
Read Mr. Barberis-Gervais orignal post J’ai honte des Juifs racistes de Montréal{FR} (I'm ashamed of racist Jews")
Read my reply- "Four Jews and the lovely Isabelle"
In re-reading the article it occurs to me again that those who most deserve an apology, are the Palestinians. Mr Barberis-Gervais' comparison of the plight of Quebeckers to that of Palestinians is sadly delusional and makes a mockery of the very real tribulations that they are living through.
At any rate, let the readers decide...
Is THAT all?
ReplyDeleteReplace jews with francophones, rich jews with PQ, palestinians with anglophones, Laval with the plateau, nand banks with government and you have the standad No Dogs rant and thought process.
It's kind of eerie actually. You're just two sides of the same coin. Except No Dogs is alot more prolic.
nand? standad? prolic?
ReplyDeleteIf not towards myself,at least be respectful of readers by making a small effort. Try a spellcheeeeeeker.
Notwithstanding your opinion I shall remain 'prolic'
You try to write on a phone, oh mighty editor. Nice job avoiding my arguments btw.

How about the constant nazi references by yourself and your readers, does that make a mockery of the Holocaust?
Naaaa.... that TOTALLY different ;-)
In 734 blog pieces the word Nazi, appears in 20 posts. So much for the 'constant reference'.
ReplyDeleteOf these 20 posts, most references(e.g soup Nazi) have nothing to do with Quebeckers. The bulk of the rest are Francophones calling anglophones Nazis (Ivan Parent, Prefontaine etc.)
Out of the 20 post there are three where you may find offence, wherein I compare the use the the "Nazi Big Lie" or a reference to the Wannasee conference.
As for commentors, I am not responsible to for their content. I choose to publish these comments in the same why I choose to publish comments which call anglos 'colonizers.'
I have never referred to anyone as a Nazi, who wasn't actually one. I have never used the word 'nazi' as a metaphor.
If you're going to criticize, do so with facts, not slander.
But of course it's easy to slag somebody with gratuitous and false accusations.
@anon 11:26
ReplyDeleteYour leaders (because they definitely don't represent ethnic and and anglo interests in anyway) are the ones that made Quebec unilingual French only and brought bill 101 and made English Speakers and ethnics second class citizens in a province they contributed economically disproportionately more then their population. When they bring government sponsored equivalent "witch hunts" like reasonable accomadation estates general.
Actions speak louder then words. The comparison to Nazis and stalinists (albeit in a much ligher form) is accurate. Only thing stopping seppie and franco chaunvanist scum from doing more is fear of the rest of canada. That is why they are try to eliminate English in Quebec via death by a thousand cuts.
Of course your going to bring up all that Acadian deportation, when in the context of how the world worked back then it was similar to how the French would have treated populations it had conquered and would have been even more severe had the acadians not been white europeans. After all you revel in Dollard des Ormeaux.

Typically making a comparison to Nazism is taking things obscenely over the top for making a point, an absurd and ridiculous extreme for any debate.
ReplyDeleteWhat is frightening though, is these comparisons are not out of place, they are dead on. This is Quebec, a fertile place for uncontrolled racism, hatred and xenophobia. One of the few places in the civilized world where one can openly commit hate crimes in the mainstream media or form hate groups that target such groups and not be stopped by the government, police or public. Perhaps more scary, is praise is received rather than condemnation.
In the 1930's the Brown Shirts thrived in this kind of environment, and eerie how (much like Quebec) it was happening under a climate of poor economic times and placing the blame and woes on the Jews. They started by smashing windows at synagogues (remember the seven that were attacked in Montreal, all on the same night?), anonymous complaints about religious displays in public and forced to remove them (have you see the recent incident at the Metro supermarket in Westmount) or just publishing hate pieces in newspapers (as we have now, in newspapers, on TV and on PQ supported websites).
The Parti Quebecois actually funds Vigile.net and refuses to denounce them or stop their funding of support after racist attacks on Jews in Quebec. See this article:
http://www.montrealgazette.com/news/Opinions+website+revive+accusations/4507182/story.html
Once you're reading that, see this article too:
http://www.montrealgazette.com/Quebec+supermarket+reverses+stance+Jewish+symbol/4569541/story.html
The parallels between the Quebecois and Brown Shirts/Nazis are very frightening. And for the record, the Nazis hid behind the excuse of protecting their race and culture for what they were doing, much like the Quebecois today. Quebec nationalistic movement and so-called protection of the French language are thinly veiled excuses to commit ethnic cleansing. Right now its soft cleansing, but when that fails, it will turn hard. Mark my words.
the anonymous ignoramus above:
ReplyDeleteFirst, a little history lesson. I was one of those "rich Jews" who moved into Chomedey in 1961. The project in Chomedey was SUBSIDIZED! Yes, SUBSIDIZED! It was for families earning below a certain income.
These were mostly semi-detached cottages and bungalows costing $12,500 (in 1961) with a 15-year subsidy on the interest (the first 3%). MOST JEWISH FAMILIES WHO MOVED IN HAD TO BORROW THE $500 DOWN PAYMENT FROM OTHER RELATIVES, including MY parents! So much for the stereotypical "rich Jews".
What is so sad today is we have NO subsidized housing developments ANYWHERE! In the late 1950s, there was a recession and this was a win-win situation for low income earners in need of housing and job creation for the construction industry. Too bad we don't have this now, but I guess the construction industry is booming too much. Further discussion on this issue is for another time.
Interestingly, a buddy of mine in Montreal was talking with a social worker in the Jewish community about the high cost of dying. Paperman and Sons is the only Jewish funeral home in Montreal, and they look to take full advantage of their monopoly wherever they can. The social worker stated about half of the Montreal Jewish population is living like paupers, and could barely afford the cost of burying themselves. While there are circumstances Paperman's has to provide for those who simply don't have the means to afford a more affluent funeral, they more than make sure they get more than their fair share back from those who could, or struggle to meet the cost. So much for "rich Jews". If anyone can name me one chartered bank in Canada, other than the Israeli banks, with a Jewish CEO, list it here!
Anonymous @ 12:56 PM: With any luck, if Vigile is being sued for a half mil, looks good on them. I hope they lose and beyond that charge its creator with hate crimes (unlikely unfortunately).

The Case of Despots is a joke anyway. The nice thing about it (at least from a Quebecois perspective) is that even if the management is stupid enough to blow it up (and seriously, buying a boatload of asset-back commercial paper and relying on the credit rating agencies, instead of doing their own credit research is mind-bogglingly stupid), the ROC will likely bail them out. Otherwise, it would be your choice of a) a slap in the face b) an insult or c)just another example of the ROC trying to hold Quebec down.

Love the put up or shut up remark by the way, especially since you guys are then ones who always post emotionally without any evidence of anything, usually accompanied by some form of childish insult.
"Acceptez-donc votre condition de minoritaires et tout ira pour le mieux"
You're such a hypocrit it's sickening. You declare so publicly that you refuse to assimilate (even though nobody is asking you to) and will resist to the bitter end, and yet demand that others assimilate to you. Superiority complex anyone? If this logic was translated into parenthood you'd be telling your kids that drugs are bad while you were shooting up.
"Poor little jasonne, crying like a baby all night long."
I'm really starting to believe that you might be an infant. I've never before seen on a political forum/blog someone respond with so many schoolyard "disses" a la "I know you are but what am I". You never have anything intriguing to say other than some lame insult that only you could possibly think was clever. Do you really think I feel insulted, offended or angered by your comments? I feel nothing but disbelief and pity in your case.
AND THIS GOES FOR EVERYONE. IF THEY WANT TO ALTER PEOPLE'S NAMES IN SOME SAD ATTEMPT AT HUMOUR TO DISTRACT FROM THEIR LACK OF SUBSTANCE, LET THEM. YOU BE THE GROWN UP AND LET THEM CALL YOU A DOODOO-HEAD ALL THEY LIKE.

I have learned French thank you. Have you learned English? If you have, good for you. If you haven't you should get on that. It's proven to be an easier language to learn than French which is supposedly so easy so there's no excuse. Even a retard can teach you. See how douchy it sounds when I say it? It's no different for you.

@ Jason
ReplyDeleteAs an addendum to my previous post, here is an excerpt from a Statistics Canada study`
"Provincial comparisons of hate crime are limited to Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia, where virtually 100% of all police services and detachments participated in the hate crime study.
Police-reported hate crimes in these three provinces accounted for roughly 80% of the total number of hate crimes. The rate in Ontario was highest at 4.1 incidents per 100,000 population, followed by British Columbia (2.5) and Quebec (1.4)."
Maybe you should look elsewhere for your hate crimes...
@ Anonymous,
ReplyDelete"Wow someone used the word Bloke, call the UN. Hate crime indeed!"
Interesting how you ignored the term "square head." If someone on English television referred to Francophones as "pepsis" or "frogs", there would be an outcry in Quebec and apologies would be demanded.
Been there, done that, nobody cared (Doan incident).
ReplyDeleteIf that all you can come up with, Gilles Proulx saying Square head on V... call the UN! What are they doing wasting their time in Africa when there is real important racism going on here.
"Wow someone used the word Bloke, call the UN"
ReplyDeleteFood for thought, hypocrit. When someone says "frog" we never hear the end of it. Is racial respect only one-sided?
"So... when's don Cherry going to prison already?"
Don Cherry's taken ALLOT of flak over the years for the things he's said from anglos and francos, unlike Proulx. And by the way, Don Cherry neever flat out insulted a race of people for being that race of people. He usually speaks in hockey references (Frenchmen and Europeans wear visors), which is much less important than a political talkshow with a guest that blatantly insults an entire race of people without any repercussions.
"And discussing the creeping anglicisation in Montréal is a hate crime? You know, that the expression "Hate crime" implies the existence of a CRIME, right?"
Duurrrrr ya think? I'm very well aware what constitutes an actual hate crime. I was speaking metaphorically in the same context as the anon who I was replying to. Take it up with him.

How is this statistic, however intriguing it may be, relevant to open racism in mainstream media?
"What are they doing wasting their time in Africa when there is real important racism going on here."

When did the United States contravene the Universal Declaration of Human Rights?
From wikipedia:
"Human rights in the United States are legally protected by the Constitution of the United States and amendments"
"In the 20th century, the United States took a leading role in the creation of the United Nations and in the drafting of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Much of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was modeled in part on the U.S. Bill of Rights."
Quebec has also violated the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and even its own Charter of Rights and Freedoms, by attacking freedom of expression.
