      If the people of Quebec with to secede from the rest of Canada, the should have that right. I myself prefer the French language to English. People sound far more polite when they speak French. English is not a pretty language to begin with and some foul mouthed idiots make it an ugly by using unnecessary profanity which I refer to as Tea Party lingo"

      Nous avons aussi de bons anglos.

    2. I doubt Mr Joseph McCarthy has heard joual being spoken. I believe he refers to academic, Parisian French. Just sayin'... Not to mention his fallacious logic, imo.

    4. Good article Cutie. This is how the Americans see Quebec. T.S., as tempting as it is, please don`t give S.R. and the other well-known trolls of this blog a wall to bounce their ball notwithstanding the fact Joual is the language of the uneducated much like what South African Afrikaans (Boers) is to Dutch. Boers are farmers.

      @Mr Sauga,

      I am curious to know your opinion regarding the equalization payments that will still be forthcoming to Quebec. By this I would like to know what you think is behind it and what the f....Harper is thinking, according to you. I find this utterly ...unlike Harper. This was a great opportunity for his government to send Quebec a very strong message but it forfeited. Why do you think it did? I would really like to know what you think about this please. Thank you.

      @toto
      Considering that Equalization payments are based on a formula that calculates the difference between the per capita revenue yield that a particular province would obtain using average tax rates and the national average per capita revenue yield at average tax rates, your buddy Harper is strictly abiding by the Equalization Program which is embedded in the 1982 constitution which is a "transfer program for addressing fiscal disparities among provinces".
      If you don't like it you can always form your own political party to kick quebec out of Canada. Or keep bitching on here.

    8. I believe you can scale back 'equalization' payments to the province of Kebec just using the facts.

      Think about it for a second. No one in the rest of Canada has 7$ a day, day care…Quebec has the lowest tuition fees in the country… Their provincial run Hydro company is giving a 40% subsidy for cheaper rates which in turn means the government needs more transfer payments from the rest of Canada…

      This is how Quebec rips off the rest of the country every year…this is just a fact and should be dealt with by reducing transfer payments to Quebec NOW…its not complicated but for some strange reason, NO party is willing to deal with this!!!

      I am not a fan of corporate welfare customized for the "have not" provinces. I believe that quebec, in this case, should exploit its huge nat resources to get in a better fiscal shape and become a contributor to canada. Not a receiver.
      If you feel that quebec is ripping off the rest of Canada, you are talking about making amendments to the constitution in order to rectify. Good luck.

      Not sure about the Senate seat, mmm lol. Just keep giving her as much exposure as possible! The more missiles she shoots in the general direction of seppies, the better, it is s a gift to us all. Finally she's useful...let's exploit it.

      She must have taken a trip hors quebec. All the ex-separatists that I've met all told me that once they left the boundaries of quebec and visited say Toronto or Ottawa all came back to quebec with a different vision of Canada. A few even told me that they were lied at by seppie propaganda or perception of anglo Canadians. prior to that trip.

      Gauging by that reaction from resident troll, so desperate to silence this thing up and make it go away .....is exactly why we should crank up the volume on the whole Maria Mourani affair and how she has now realized that sep's are nothing but hypocritical racists bigot xenophobes and she now refuses to have anything to do with them.

      (Despite what many off you think, trolls do have their uses on this blog...well s.r. anyway, ....the others are too dumb to bother with. But this one does provide delicious little insights into the sep's mind space ....always useful information. I thoroughly enjoy reconnaissance missions! Lol)

      @S.R.
      Vu que tu ne veux pas repondre a une question que je t'ai pose avant, la revoici:

      Pourquoi tu t'acharne sur le sort des francos hors quebec? D'un cote tu renies le Canada mais de l'autre tu t'insurge sur le manque de services en francais pour eux alors que le quebec est unilingue francais. Tu es bizarre...

      Delete
    13. Je ne m'acharne pas et je ne m'insurge pas,je ne fais que constater que certaines minorités sont plus choyées que d'autres.

      Je laisse à ceux qui se sentent trahis le choix de s'insurger ou pas.

      Dans le passe tu as demande que les francos hors quebec aient 100% de service bilingue 27 sur 24 sans interruption. Crois-tu que les anglos au quebec aient droit a un traitement identique? Si non, pourquoi?

      Yep, lot of need for bilingual services in Newfoundland and Labrador. Population base of about 500,610. Number of unilingual francophones 0 %. Percentage of French used in the household <0.1%.

      Tell the whole story and not half a story for a change.

  5. Mr. Berlach,

    I love Canada just like everybody else. However, if that love includes love for Don Cherry, Rob Ford, Queen Elizabeth and the Toronto Maple Leafs... then I might just need to reconsider it.

      Rob Ford, on drugs and drunk could run quebec better than any previous Premier. Don Cherry IS a great Canadian that keeps it real. As a franco I have never felt belittled by his comments. His denial for the Order of Canada is purely political, not to create controversy with the spoiled brats quebecois. the Queen, well, she has a tough life, I am neutral. Sure she is a nice person. The leafs suck. Go Habs Go!!!!!! Go Alouettes Go!!!!

  6. The Habs were a dynasty in the 70s when they had mostly French players but the coach was Scotty Bowman. Did the French guys need an English coach to lead them to a record string of Stanley Cup victories? BTW, do immigrants to Quebec, like Maria, automatically embrace the Habs as their team? Is rooting for the Habs a Quebec value?
