French versus English Volume 18

CSST -no longer providing English service to business
Many readers contacted me concerning the new policy of the Quebec's workman's compensation board, known as the CSST, which announced it will no longer offer service in English to business owners who are English. LINK
Ironically the commission will provide English assistance to business' which have head offices outside Quebec. The commission is funded 100% by employers , many of them English.
It seems that the CSST is being strong armed by the government's OQLF, the French language police, to drop the service.
The CSST was quite clear on it's website  that the decision to drop English was based on a requirement to obey the OQLF.

Thanks to Anglo Montrealer, Mitch and others for the tip....

Councillors Give up on Richler Street
It seems that Marvin Rotrand and Michael Applebaum have thrown in the towel with respect to naming a Montreal city street after controversial author Mordechai Richler.
A firestorm of criticism was raised against the idea by those who saw Richler as an anti-Quebecois racist.
Ironically a Facebook group entitled "Non à une rue Mordecai-Richler ! Non au racisme anti-québécois"  (No to Mordecai-Richler Street! No to anti-Quebecois Racism) is full of racism itself.
"Marvin Rotrand is the same person that I wrote to almost  twenty years ago because he wanted to remove the crucifix from the city hall ... I told him that in that case it would be necessary to remove all the Stars of David from in front of Jewish places of worship, or companies and kosher restaurants" Denise Groulx
Laval University bilingual football program
On November 13th 2010 at the PEPS stadium in Quebec, in front of 16,635 fans, Laval’s Rouge et Or football team won it’s record eighth straight Dunsmore Cup. But the game was interesting for another reason, at least to me.
The referee made his announcements to the crowd, bilingually. (Even the  Alouettes or Canadiens can't muster that.) The music that blared in the stadium during breaks was decidedly English and perhaps La Presse columnist Rejean Tremblay will take on a new cause celebre. I overheard the team's coach Glen Constantine shouting instructions  to a player in English and at the end of the game, the team took a victorious photo shouting "ALL THE WAY!  ALL THE WAY!"

On top of it, rumour has it that the university is exploring switching its football program to an American football conference in the Northeast United States. Ouch!

I'm sure that French language purists were wincing in pain.

Luc Plamondon Trashes English to hawk his album
Like a movie star who makes an appearance on Leno or Letterman to shill for a recently released film, Luc Plamondon chose to seek publicity by slagging English music, in order to promote his newly released album. See my Post
Complaining sanctimoniously about creeping Anglicisms in French music, his new album includes the word 'Star' front and center! The album, according to him, is divided into four sections, 'rock', 'pop,' 'groove' and ballades, more Anglicisms!  In a newspaper interview he deplored the fact that radio stations play 'crossover' music. Ha! Ha!  LINK
Mr. Plamondon has now taken up the cause of opposing the federal governments Bill C-32. Quebec artists are demanding payment for illegal downloading and want, among other thing, a tax to be placed on IPod devices to compensate them.
Mr. Plamondon certainly doesn't need the money, publicity is more his thing. As for fairness towards artists, he's not the best example of virtue. Mr. Plamondon moved to Ireland, where artists were exempted from paying taxes. When Ireland amended that law, he fled to another tax haven, Switzerland!

Tim Hortons removes Maple Leaf in Quebec
"Tim Hortons has released its festive holiday mugs, but there's something missing in the Quebec version -- the Maple Leaf.
It's been replaced by a snowflake, in the latest example of Canadian companies specializing their products for Quebec culture....
Tim Hortons may have gone a step further. All pan-Canadian images, from the Rocky Mountains to the CN Tower, are removed from its holiday mugs on sale in la belle province.
The coffee chain says it has nothing to do with politics." LINK
Sure......
Other companies are just as guilty. It seems that Molson-Coors is hiding the Molson Canadian brand in Quebec. Some say the beer can be found if you try hard enough, but if that's the case and it is available in the province, the company is in violation of the Quebec language law by offering an English-only website.
All Molson-Coors brands have their own bilingual website except CANADIAN, which can perhaps be explained by it's marketing plan which plays up Canadian patriotism. Molson Canadian website

All you can eat in French
 The Association des restaurateurs
du Québec (ARQ)
has come up with another moronic poster campaign to encourage restaurants to serve people in French.

I'm sure restaurants will fall over themselves to display the sign that encourages a French only eating experience, especially in the downtown core of Montreal and parts west.

I'm also sure that English and minority restaurateurs that contribute financially to the industry group are thrilled to see their money wasted on the project.

Don't look for too many restaurants in Montreal to display the sign, risking offending its anglo and ethnic clientèle.

The campaign is based on a similarly unsuccessful effort by the government to encourage stores to post signs stating that in this establishment "HERE, We Shop In French"

Quebec teachers complain about religion
When I was a kid, like most anglos (and francophones) who were not Catholic, I attended a public school run by the Protestant School board of Greater Montreal.
Although the school taught a fair amount of religion, (we sang hymns each morning,)  not all the students were Christian including a fair amount of Jews.
To celebrate their holidays, Jews were allowed a couple of days off from school each year and I remember a fair bit of jealously on behalf of the rest of the class who claimed it an unfair advantage. Hey, we were kids.

It seems that several Montreal teachers working at the école secondaire Saint-Luc in Montreal aren't more mature, complaining that Muslim, and Jewish teachers are being unfairly rewarded with a couple of days off;
"The problem we want to raise is one of justice and fairness. Indeed, the number of working days per year for teachers is 200 days. Therefore, staff members wishing to be absent to observe a religious ritual are working fewer days than most other teachers, that is to say 197 days." LINK fr
The teachers seem very concerned that the government is wasting money.

Perhaps they are missing the simplest of solutions- eliminate all holidays including Christmas and Easter!

Anglo-basher wants to run for mayor of Montreal
The thoroughly detestable Michel Brûlé who wrote "ANGLAID" a book that childishly attacks the English language now wants to run for mayor of Montreal. Read my post about the book.
Claiming that he needs support only from francophone Montrealers to win, perhaps he should ask Louise Harel how that worked out for her.
In an interview, he told La Presse that he wants to get rid of the English influence in Montreal and make Montreal open to the world. Link fr
Huh?
His best idea for the city, is that as mayor, he would encourage beer-drinking in public.
He's presently writing another book 25 mesures pour améliorer le Québec (25 ideas to improve Quebec)

I can't wait!
(Thanks to Frank P. for the tip)

Late Breaking...Anglos refused Xmas baskets
Anglophones seeking a Christmas basket were turned away from a Montreal suburban Church in St. Lambert and were told they were not eligible because they were English. They were told to go to an English church. The policy as explained, was to eliminate double-dipping.
The local Anglican church said that this was hogwash and nobody is turned away because of language.

  2. So then, here we have an organized group of race hating thugs (The OQLF), dictating to a government organization to blatantly DISCRIMINATE against specific citizens. The CSST is designed to help all citizens of this province when they're in a time of need, and essentially are working for us (i.e. workers/employers; we pay them out of their pockets).

There will come a day when the OQLF demands specialized identification cards are distributed by the provincial government. The card will state, assuming you meet the criteria, that you are of pure blood and a true Francophone citizen of Quebec (based on your birth parents, religion, color of skin, etc). They will say it's just to promote identity and pride, because oh yes, Quebec is a nation. Then one day, out of the blue, the card will give you preferential treatment for government services. Say, getting ahead in line of a hospital ER. Getting a job. Seeing a doctor for an exam. Mailing a letter. Eventually you will REQUIRE one of these cards to have access to services at all (too bad for Les Autres who didn't qualify, but afterall, they're intruders in the nation of Quebec and shouldn't be entitled to government services).

You think I'm kidding here? Oppression, segregation and violence don't happen over night. It takes years, the oppressors keep seeing how much they can get away with and *if* anyone steps in or protests. When no one does, they push things up a notch, and then more, until suddenly you have what Quebec is quickly becoming. Please, I invite you to read history books and accounts of stories of what went on in countries like Vienna or Poland back in the 1920's and 30's. The parallels with Quebec are rather distributing.

I promise you, if every English person in Quebec swore an oath to only speak, live and breath in French. And every Jewish person in this province converted to Catholic (the Quebecois aren't fond of them either)....They WOULD STILL BE UP IN ARMS ABOUT WANTING US OUT.

Just keep watch them keep climbing the ladder of hate and oppression, they're already half way to the top and picking up speed! Most of the Quebecois are under educated, living in poverty and foaming at the mouth with hatred. So wanting to put the blame for all their woes on a group of people. Ready to follow like blind sheep. Quebec is a volcano ready to erupt.

  5. Actually the previous poster (8:16 AM) seems to make a lot of sense when you consider what is going on to enthnically cleanse the province of Quebec. In Germany under the Nazis a scapegoat was needed to blame for economic and social woes of the people. I believe we all know which ethnic group was singled out as the reason for all the problems.

It is clearly obvious there are similarities in Quebec to the ethnic cleansing which took place in pre WW2 Germany. This time, however, it is the anglo population which is being blamed for all the problems in Quebec which is rather ironic in that it is the anglos who for the most part are responsible for such institutions as McGill.

Perhaps not as radical as what happened in Germany but nevertheless the underlying current is ever present and the oppression is clearly evident by the examples provided the the author in todays post. Clearly the federal government and their dog with rubber teeth the OOCOL (office of commissioner of languages - read Grahame Fraser) is highly critical of anything that is not bilingual outside of Quebec (remember his comments on the Olymnpics in Vancouver) but turns a blind eye to any transgression within Quebec. Can you imagine if a federal department such as EI or Service Canada were to blatantly make a statement that french language services outside of Quebec would be terminated.

The crying and belly aching which would eminate out of Quebec would be loud and never ending.

What a state of affairs and I , if an anglo living in Quebec, would be seriously considering a relocation to avoid the discrimination and open hostility represented by these disgusting pure laines who have brains the size of the funadmental components if their favorite soup.

I seriously doubt it but you can have your "reves". Quebec would quickly become a banana republic without the funding from the ROC. You can't stand the thought of this and therefore lash out at the minorities in Quebec seeking a scapegoat for your own incompentence and ineptitude. Sad to be so insecure.

If I attended that church I would remind my priest about Christmas spirit, because apparently he forgot all about it. Probably to busy abusing little children (sick fucks). I've got one thing to say to the people who work and attend that Church, you shall be judged! And not by me or Pauline Marois.

If it is, then these are yet more parallels to draw been the Jews in Vienna and Poland, and the Anglophones in Quebec. Where do you think the line is drawn? Does anyone think a denial of services and rights is the end of it?

Anywhere else in the free world alarms would go off and people would be up in arms at these kind of things. Quebec is a dark, hidden, dirty little secret that Canada hides.

The situation with the CSST, and other provincial departments is a very serious matter. Any delays in assistance due to these types of actions can lead to trouble for the employee. They should be held responsible for all damages before a Human Rights panel.

As for the church story. This is very serious. Refusing to give aid to somebody based on language, or ethnicity is a violation of every teaching of Christ. May the hand of God come down and strike them from the face of the earth.

English is also an official language of Quebec. Yes, read the constitution. We Anglos have the right to live and work in our own language, as we always have before the ethnic cleansing began. We're an historic minority, and we want the rights that we had prior to 1977. We don't want the language of the majority to be imposed on our minorities, that's not what democracy is about. Francophones can live and work in French and Anglos want to do likewise. Is that too much to ask?,

  24. Heres my letter sent to Tim Hortons in regards of their new marketing strategy.

"Wow. I'm 25 years old and I've been an avid fan of Timmy's coffee and products for the past 6-7 years. Even younger, I can remember my parents coming to my baseball games with a tray of Tim Hortons coffee in hand. Drinking Tim Hortons coffee and grabbing a quick muffin or donut has almost become a tradition in my family. I personally began enjoying the routine of a daily coffee while serving with the Canadian Forces at tender age 17. One of the reasons I've been so loyal to the brand was pride. The same pride I felt when Tim Hortons went to Afghanistan to bring a lil Canada to the troops who were serving so far away.

Now you pull this stunt? Isn't the overwhelming success Tim Hortons is having within Quebec enough? Did you really need to over analyze the Quebec market and change the marketing approach? Why change a winning formula? Out of curiosity, if and when a Quebec-born Canadian Forces member will be purchasing a coffee overseas in Afghanistan, will he be offered a more "Quebec friendly target market" cup? Or will he be given a cup with a maple leaf to match the one.... he's got sewn on his shoulder! The one he's serving for!

Tim Hortons has definitely lost some points in my book, you guys always came across as the type of company that "cared", that Canadians could relate to and part of "Canadian tradition". But to my dismay, I was wrong. Tim Hortons is a publicly traded company that operates like the rest, caring only about the dollar and not the consumer spending it.

Before I finish, allow me to share my course of action for these next few weeks. I'll start off by hopping in my car and going for a drive. I won't stop til I reach two large golden arches centered with a red MAPLE LEAF. I'll enter the drive through, and order myself a muffin and a large cup of "Premium Roast" coffee. I will try to do this daily, slowly but surely embracing a new routine. You've just lost a client and as my university marketing class has taught me, my discontent should influence a good 12-15 people of my surroundings. Perhaps a snowball effect? Hope the new marketing strategy of a "Quebec Specific" cups works. Good luck with that.

  25. RE: Author Dec 10, 2010 9:43 "The situation with the CSST, and other provincial departments is a very serious matter."

You are right, this is a very serious matter.
When in the hell is Canada going to fight this continual frittering away of our constitutional human rights? Quebec is way out of line again. When people are sick, they certainly have every right to seek information concerning their workman’s compensation in either of the official languages of Canada as a basic human right. The CSST has a legal duty to accommodate employees with disabilities. People need to clearly understand their financial situation. Their disability affects their livelihood. The O.L.F. is crossing the line by denying English service to business owners who are English. This language discrimination harassment creates a poisonous environment by treating people differently at a time when both the employer and the employee clearly need to understand the laws of the disability statues, which affect both the employer and the employee. The CSST forces the employer with the duty to accommodate statues to accommodate the employee’s disability to the point of undue hardship, while at the same time the CSST will not accommodate the employer with similar respect of accommodating an English employer because of their place of origin, living in Quebec by denying service in English. This is discriminatory and incongruous for an organization whose mission is to provide the guidance and direction for the maintenance of a safe secure work environment. When discrimination based on language from the onset of basic phone communication creates a hostile work environment between employer vs. CSST and CSST vs. employee. It will be the disabled employee who will be harmed in the long run due to the hostile rules of the O.L.F. The whole premise of the French language issue is the French demanding respect for their language, when they show nothing but total disregard and disdain for any other language or culture other than their own. This is the ugliest form of racism: le collective Français ideology hating anything English and enforcing racist policies with no regard for the human lives that are harmed due to this destructive ideology.

I'm tired of wading through a bunch of crappy insulting posts, many of which I've not published.

To the last poster, be advised that it most certainly isn't against the law to modify a picture or original work of art under the 'fair use' doctrine.
That being said this thread is now open only to posts that speak to the main post itself. No more crosstalk here.

Has double-dipping been proven to be the case in her church and if so, why not address the matter by employing management methods used by Sun Youth, Moisson Montréal and other food basket distributors?

Would Be Proud of Your Nazi-Loving Propaganda (yet again, militant separatists always idolise Hitler’s minions’ methods since it bled the Commonwealth, and the rest of the Free World white). Anyone can use photoshop Chump, but clearly you are just trying to frustrate everyone with your fake photos. How about using a real one, like this, with Petit Peuple Marois walking hand in hand with the RRQ?: www.parkavenuegazette.com/i/PaulineSupports.RRQ.TerroristOrgan.jpg

Well buddy, here’s something that is not a fake also, a letter I wrote recently to the Department of Homeland Security, U.S.A.:
    To: Name Withheld @dhs.gov
    Cc: Colonel James Brown
    ________________________________________
    Good evening Sir,

I am not sure if you remember me, last time we spoke I was attempting to report to your buddy at the SQ, Lt. Mario Lagacé, a serious issue with a former employer of mine here in the government. I am in second round of mediation with that institution and hoping finally for a settlement, after two and a half years, in January. I have another problem with provincial extremists that I was hoping the security services of your government's Border protection would kindly take the time to validate.

Recently we have been watching the political leader of the opposition party here in Quebec, Pauline Marois, and discovered her links to a known terrorist organisation here, thanks to the vigilance of group of activists defending our minority. The organisation she is linked to and indirectly funds (although publicly denies, of course) is the Reseau de resistance du Quebec (QC resistance movement or RRQ is their favorite acronym: prominent members are Patrick Bourgeois, Yvan Major and a facebook user known as Patriote Deschenes). The problem is that we discovered her close links to this organisation through photographic proof of her walking hand in hand with them in an Independence rally (see below).

    ReplyDelete
  45. We understand that she has every right to a differing political opinion, but this is a known terrorist organisation. There are even videos of her screaming out in the QC City legislature (videos are at assnat.qc.ca ) Anglophobic statements - pushing for the closure and the cease of funding for our 'foreign [to her]' language schools, universities and hospitals. Her senior party deputy language critic Pierre Curzi, for example, also abets openly extremist whack-jobs like Anglophobe Louis Préfontaine -www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2F4gvgTcNQ In the video Pierre Curzi gives him extra time to ramble on against the use of English in Quebec, against bilingualism and states that French is the only 'national' language of Quebec. Yes, I know extremists do not stop complaining, it is the eternal fear of loss of a language that is vibrant across the country (there is always room for improvement), and is still here after 400 years - but they act like bullies here and threaten violence if they do not have their way (les gros bébés qui ne lâche pas leur nombrils toujours!!!). Just this week they asked people to intimidate members who donated to a provincial Federalist political party.

Alas, I digress, back to Pauline Marois, and why we recommend she be denied entry into your beloved country, and the birthplace of my Grandfather (Queens, 1909). Since Canadian apathy with these sovereigntists has led to the situation we are in now (talk of third referendum by the Losership at the Parti Quebecois), and knowing that your buddy Lt. Lagacé here did absolutely nothing when I reported several laws broken at the provincial pension fund last year, I am asking for the help of our neighbors and Allies to contain terrorists within QC, so that we can force them to understand their repetitive publicly stated unwanted comments are indeed criminal, and shall not be without consequence in front of the eyes of the Leaders of the Free World.

Here is a text calling out that she be banned from entrance into the United States composed by James Brown and I - and trust me, we are very, very serious - the man in CC is a retired Colonel of the Canadian Militia and has been watching these nasty nationalist provincial politicians who will stop at nothing to evict all those who speak English from the province (especially by making us feel as if it is not our home, even if our families have lived here for hundreds of years - it is our province and home too). If you decide to accept our request, which I do hope, you may inform her directly at pauline.marois at assnat.qc.ca if you do so decided that indeed, as a border security guard, she associates with terrorists and is not welcome in the USA.

Saturday December 4, 2010 in Greater Montreal
    JOINT STATEMENT
    of the Executive Council
    of the Steering Committee

    of the

    Committee to Abolish Bill 101

Now that we have your attention! No, We are not extremists: the Parti Québécois Leader is a Complete and Utter Hypocrite. She Continues to Push for Sovereignty Despite the Majority Deciding “No!” ... Twice ...

Cette scélérate - this wretched pûr laine political party leader Pauline Marois ( pauline.marois @ assnat.qc.ca ) should understand that you reap what you sow, et qu'elle n'est surtout pas 'plus blanche que blanche,' / she is certainly not more white than white (!) considering she walks hand in hand with the RRQ (et al. : Franco-fascist/supremacist terrorist organizations), and her party funds many of these proxy groups / fringe independence groups that promote ethnic cleansing of minorities in the province of Quebec by harassment. For those seeking proof of the RRQ association (a known provincial terrorist organization frequently under investigation by the authorities), then here she is: (see photo at upper left or cut and paste link below)

    sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs293.snc3/28291_390014486743_594131743_4596774_4683008_n.jpg

We openly suggest to the United States Homeland Security Department, that they undertake to prevent this woman from access to your soil, since she indirectly funds these terrorist organizations. Recently, I had a great suggestion from a friend - someone should advise the United States that Pauline Marois associates with known terrorists ... after all, she could very soon be leader of the province ... Prevent her from traveling, that would be awesome, give her some of her own restrictive medicine. A great idea, and we all smile upon its fruition!

More on Marois and her hypocrisy - that she thinks we have all forgotten: La Pauvre: 'Ma precieuse personne est attaqué' (regarding the Hang her for Humanity’s sake statement) – Well, You reap what you sow! Why on earth do we have to explain why we have a basic right to our ENGLISH Language to anyone anymore? Who do you think you are Marois?!!!

She denounces that someone attacks her, but has proxy groups harass everyone for not abiding by the supremacy of the French language (remember that stupid law suggested?) – typically backhanded cowardice from the retarded separatists we must endure in this province (aka Septards). They seem to act with impunity! United States Homeland Security shall be informed, and I hope she is denied access to the United States in the future. We have had several threats from the RRQ and other gangs that are totally ignored by Montreal Police, TMR Security Services and the QPP when we report them.

Not so fast ma chère! Frankly Pauline, we do not care much for your Franco-supremacist attitude. We noticed your screeching in the legislature, calling for our institutions to disappear from the province. We noted you claiming that they are over-funded. We live in the most bilingual area of the province, not your fantasy country: Quebecois Paradise. We are a distinctly different and multi-ethnic people here in Greater Montreal. Read Dante lady! We are distinctly ... not your "Quebecois" slaves!

We believe that such Losership should be purged. And because we believe in the death penalty for ethnic cleansing (not to mention Sedition also!), defined as :

"... the planned deliberate removal from a specific territory (Quebec in this case), persons of a particular ethnic group (tous ceux qui sont autre: allo-anglo-etc), by force or intimidation, in order to render that area ethnically homogenous, ..."

    ReplyDelete
  47. This legal definition comes from the United Nations; it is the second part of their definition of ethnic cleansing. Canada has signed it. Quebec is definitely 'on the hook' for this whether they split or not. Because of this all retroactive charges for recent crimes committed against the collectivity of us (and still continuing): which includes all English-Speakers, all other ethnic communities, and all Indigenous people violated by Quebecois ethnic perversities (la derive ethnique, pensez Bernard Landry, vis à vis ces commentaires Michael Sabia, Caisse de Dépôt). We will proceed against these ethnic cleansing barbarians to the highest legal level Internationally: the International Criminal Court in The Hague. They might separate but they cannot hide. And they owe us big time!

She should be subject to capital punishment like anyone else, if and when convicted of certain genres of crime. There is ample proof for an investigation at the very least. Political leaders are not known to dirty their hands with oven-stuffing at the basic level of opening the doors and shoving people into the ovens. They usually prefer anonymity and stay in the background and just design policies that could lead to eventual oven-stuffing as well as presently tolerating the free dissemination of such ideas while censoring and banning by crime legal English language resistance journals.

We interpret this to be arrogant and aggressive inciteful activity and therefore encouraging such activities in certain funding & associations may some feel (?) lead to charges of ethnic cleansing against many racist Quebecois separatists when the UN Human Rights Commission studies, rules and invokes said measures against Quebec racists.

This is an informed and learned opinion. We have sufficient proof to believe in our convictions. No QPP hypocrite or like Minister -ordering our night time arrests- will make us change our minds. Arresting people for expressing political opinions in Quebec which are not separatists brings arrests while convicted FLQ bombers have received Judges positions and Executive Council jobs in Montreal?! That, for an Israeli, would be similar to having a Hamas member on the City Council Executive for Jerusalem; or a court judge?! It wouldn't work there as soon as the announcement would be revealed. But since the situation here is entirely different, -in the wake of a parallel move by the seps ... (?) ... they apply it and figure we are too stupid to see their sociopathic ethnic-cleansing applications (distinctly-Quebecois-style-eh?!).

Hey there racist French ambulance drivers!!! Why do we even let you guys have a ruddy job at all!? She (Marois) has already stated, that if she becomes Premier, as much as a total joke that would be (please Legault, take her trône!) for the majority in the province, she would act in Bad Faith against Ottawa.

So all our hard-earned tax dollars, from a province with the highest debt and taxation rate of the entire continent already, shall be just squandered (again!) on a dead-end project that a majority have voted against twice, if these people take control of the National Assembly one more time.

We have more than two million people and perhaps a million Displaced Persons - many who want to return for reparations- ... and we have no representation in the National Assembly whatsoever. Charest's Liberals have thrown us as a sacrifice to satisfy the tyranny of the majority prone to capitulating to their separatist neighbours.

Therefore we refute the Provincial System as not capable of viability for US ... as a plank in our basic constitutional policy. We will look to concentrating in municipal and federal areas of making us a City State of Canada instead of a Cash Cow for racist french people in Quebec.

    ReplyDelete
  48. If any particular party is responsible for the Déclin tranquille du Québec, let there be no doubt, it is largely the fault of the PQ, with the aid of the Liberal Party of Québec's 'soft nationalists'. Ethnic cleansing of non-French people in Quebec is only 'soft' if you are pure laine. Sand paper hurts more when it is rubbed upon one's skin than it would if one were to do the rubbing or watch someone rub the skin of a third party. Liberals must awaken to the fact that the non-privileged are hurting and we are also organizing and we are close to maybe three million when we include friends and people whom we are wooing to be friends.

Some of us have even reported corruption at the highest levels of government, only to be silenced by separatist judges who wish to cover up the colossal stupidity of this government ‘qui ne vaut pas un sous’ - meaning it is not worth the paper it is printed on. Maclean's [recent article calling QC the most corrupt province in Canada] was almost one-hundred percent correct to point this out, but of course, the corrupt politicians cried out in denial, and some unscrupulous Federal politicians went as dangerously far as to censure the authors of the story – so we truly have returned to the day and age when it is most dangerous to tell the whole truth, just like those who were thrown on the Pillory for calling Mad King George III just that! NB: If you haven't seen Nigel Hawethorne's role in the Madness of King George, please do.

You still think that Madame Petit Peuple is ‘plus blanche que blanche'? Here she goes again, after having practically everyone in her family donate $2500 to her campaign, she states the political party donation caps should be only $500. This woman throws stones from a glass house!

    cyberpresse.ca/actualites/quebec-canada/politique-quebecoise/201005/24/01-4283358-financement-des-partis-marois-a-deja-fait-ce-quelle-denonce.php

Thank you Mr Daniel Lessard, you are a very astute journalist, and thank you for noting the stupidity at the Caisse de défauts!

How about her part in placing Henri-Paul 'there was no ceiling to that [ABCP] investment' Rousseau at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, with her buddy FLQ-supporter, and Nazi (Adrien Arcand) glorifier, separatist cohort Bernard Landry. Did she think we would forget about that $47 Billion dollar loss too [since you blamed it all on the Liberals]? We want to throw out the Parti Québécois Losership, the Bloc Québécois and the [conservative mafia] Liberal Party of Quebec, and start afresh.

We are pro-bilingualism and pro City State status within Canada for greater Montreal. As a consequence we do not participate in provincial elections: federal and municipal only. Then we shall secede when we have our majority of the population vote on the question. The New Canada Party, the Ethnic Party, stray elements presently of the ADQ not bound by the cult of personality in Marvel Mario and not concerned about remaining a part of Quebec ... are welcome to join with us.

These 'new' parties at least recognize openly the contribution of the English speaking community as well as the other 129 linguistic minorities (the ridiculous Allophones term we shall avoid as much as possible) to this province also! In a City State of Greater Montreal and part of Canada, these problems would evaporate very rapidly.

If removing our entire territory from the Province of Quebec is the only means by which we may regain the right to think, live, speak, work and write in English ... we shall do so by any means at our disposal. Our loyalty is more to the Principles around freedom, equality and democracy than around the institutions of a racist group of Joual-speakers who are self-styled and self-proclaimed pur laine Quebecois. There is a major difference between these two images, because signs stating "Do not speak French in public space" were never posted anywhere in Canada - they don't exist. This is more Quebecois misinformation (a trait they have in common with the Nazis).

On the other hand, signs stating "ICI on commerce en francais" are real, restrictive signs that have been placed in multiple locations throughout Quebec.

There was plenty of French spoken at the Vancouver Olympic Games...too much really...when you consider that Francophones only comprise 25% of the total Canadian population. And there were absolutely no signs stating "Do not speak French in public space" or other signs of a similar nature. There were no restrictions placed on the French language at all...nothing coming even close to the bans on English in Quebec.

That is a deceptive figure. Look, if you EXCLUDE the fascist "nation" of Quebec, then less than 3% of the Canadian population are Francophones. Yes, LESS THAN THREE PRECENT!

For that reason, the French language had no business or place in Vancouver Olympics when you think about. Neither does official bilingualism across Canada, especially when Quebec goes out of its way to be unilingual.

And finally French and Quebecois-French are two different languages. Much like British English versus Ebonics English, so we're not even talking about French.

Being proud of your language is one thing. It is pure lunacy to carry a chip on your shoulder for 50+ years over what occurred many years ago. This poor Quebec Drama Queen scenario is getting very old. To continually get into this tit per tat historical wrangling over who did what and how justified Quebec is to oppress the English is a waste of time. Quebec is wasting all our time, our money, our patience and our tolerance for their obsessive egotistical pride in only the French culture; in an era, where the internet had changed all modes of communication. So Quebec either adapts to the new world or they are left behind. Quebec chooses to be left behind, that is their choice. However to create racist laws to stifle the way people communicate is like trying to control the air we breathe.

    ReplyDelete
  63. RE: December 12, 2010 4:06 PM “CSST is not worse than the English of the 50s.”

Quebec can be very proud of their culture, when they have such little regard for the Disabled seeking services of the CSST that they will either lose their job or disability benefits. CSST’s role is to provide services to the disabled in a manner where they eliminate barriers for the disabled to function in society. CSST is the communication link between the employer and the employee to be sure the disabled employee receives the benefits they are entitled to. To bring in this OLF language limitation of no English for employers of Quebec, it is just creating further barriers to the detriment of the disabled. The OLF creates barriers for the disabled, children, immigrants, employers, the English, Francophones who want a choice to access education, our health services, our employment environment (computer software) etc. The poor cannot even receive a Christmas basket because they spoke English. This is the Quebec that you are proud of? Exactly who do you think make up the Quebec population? We are all Quebecers whether or not you like it or not. We are all here, plan to stay here and insist our Canadian rights be respected.

Bill 101’s section 10 protects us from discrimination, something that the OLF seems to forget completely, and repetitively.
Quebec has millions of people who speak English, and we pay taxes too, so openly stating that you will not serve us in English is,
according the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, discrimination based on language. Canada is not perfectly bilingual, I know,

Espérant avoir répondu convenablement a votre demande.

    Bien a vous

    Jean Marois,
Préposé en chef aux plaintes inutiles.

  80. Please take down your Francophobic messages, they are not very welcoming – nous sommes Quebecois et nous parlons l'anglais !!!

Firstly, if you do not like what you read, don't come. It's like switching off a TV programme that you don't like. Simple...

When Anglophones and minorities are subjected to the cruelest barbs, do you also complain?
Read this racist rant on vigle.net today and come back and tell me that we treat you with contempt.

    http://www.vigile.net/Le-lobby-juif-est-responsable-de-l

As for Bill 101 banning discrimination, you must be a comedian.

BTW....sending in dozens of ranting comments in BOLD CAPS topped of with a "VIVE LE QUEBEC LIBRE" will get you automatically rejected. I admire your effort, but you're wasting your time.

You can contribute by making reasonable arguments and unoffensive remarks.

    It's up to you.
Remember about the BOLD CAPS, I'm serious....

As for the blog police...well....I can't even respond.

  82. Thanks for pointing out that link on vigile.net. That is solid proof just how over the top racist the Quebecois are. More so, it shows that Quebec is shadowing countries like Vienna or Poland during the 1930's, pointing the blame towards Jews (and of course, the ever-so-evil Anglophones).

Not only is there no other region in Canada (if not North America and the world?) where such hate is openly spewed unchallenged, it's that the government and police ignore it!

    The Quebecois truly are monsters.

Discrimination based on "historic rights", a subjective and arbitrary concept that serves as an excuse for the lunatic jurisdiction to grant (or withhold) rights based on one's familial lineage.

Discriminating against someone because he/she picked the "wrong" side is petty and childish. It certainly doesn't suit the people who claim to be a nation and aspire to statehood. On the contrary, by acting like an insecure, jealous, and vengeful minority, they show that they're not even close to being ready to form a respected and prosperous nation-state.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, and not one French or English speaker has provided a valid argument against. Should Jews hate all Germans because of the Holocaust (70 years ago). Or maybe all Spaniards because of the Inquisition (500 years ago)? By this logic the Native-Canadians should still be fighting the English and French.

    Your logic Is insane.

I'm a firm believer in the principle "do onto others as you would want done onto you."

Pequistes and French language zealots say that everyone should respect them while showing no respect for everyone else. The hypocrisy is sickening.

That vigil.net article proves the point perfectly. I was happy to see that at least a few of the commentators were against the racist article.

(They have to behave!).

Quebec Anglophones, as citizens of Canada, also have a right to their language, which is one of the two official languages of the country.

"Les Anglophones qui sont trop malheureux, ont en principe un problème: celui de ne plus se sentir part de la majorité et ils ont raison, car ils sont absorbés dans une minorité. (They have to behave!)."

The Quebecois are a minority within Canada. And they certainly are not behaving decently, with their oppressive, draconian, discriminatory and racist language laws.

"...soyez assuré que vous serez acculé(s) au mur du Québec, des droits de la personne et de la Charte des droits canadiennes."

Don't you realize that Quebec's language laws violate the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms?! These laws also violate the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. We need a leadership in Ottawa that will force Quebec to respect these codes.

J'emploi mon droit constitutionnelle de s'exprimer - to clearly counter sovereigntist bullies who have repetitively told me that my constitutional rights in Quebec do not exist.

    CSST Communications in French Only
As a government agency, the CSST is required to comply with the rules of the Office québécois de la langue française. Under those rules, all communications with employers, suppliers and partners must be in French only, unless the head office of those parties is located outside Québec.
That's why the CSST communicates with employers, suppliers and partners solely in French. As of April 26, 2010, employers will also have access to a new, French-only menu as part of the CSST's interactive voice response telephone service.
    The CSST's Language Policy
DISCRIMINATION AGAINST COMPANIES THAT USE ENGLISH IN THEIR OFFICES IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
The charter states in Section 10, that we are not to be discriminated against, SO YOU MUST SERVE OUR COMMUNITY IN ENGLISH – otherwise you are in violation of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

    Merci et bonne journée,

  96. That's right people think differently on either side, and it is about mutual respect that we achieve balance and peace. We are at a time, were the pendulum has swung so far to the Nationalist side, that the Charter rights are completely ignored by the majority
At the Commission des normes du travail, for example, only two out of 6 persons working there would serve me in my language (actually fits the provincial majority's average perfectly) - but for the benefit of the province and respect for our rights that should be more like 2/3 (as are Anglos bilingual numbers approx) - this way we can rebuild the province together and not as adversaries. But the repetitive harassment or all forms by the Clannista makes this very hard for our collective wealth to improve.

Any discrimination breeds contempt, and speaking to each other openly and frankly will lead us to a path that involves more liberty (and not Maìtres chez nous style, meaning we have no rights), and wealth.

Since the sixties, the neo Ancien Regime types have sucked up many of key positions within the government under the guise of protecting la belle langue - they are the false prophets, and have only led us, with their Losership, to the depths of this Illusion Tranquille where we have either a conservative mafia or a franco-supremacist fascist party to choose from: maybe we can change that together, once the ADQ can grab a enough seats to make a difference - il est grand temps de travailler ensemble, ne pensez-vous pas ?

  97. Thank you sir for your compassion, c'est bienvenue: Cependant vos problèmes au travail ne devraient pas faire chavirer tout le Québec. Néanmoins, j'en suis désolée.

They are not just my problems, it goes for all Anglophones and Allophones that decide to work for the civil service - here is a section of a recent letter I wrote:
